Asian PaCIVICS
Redefining art and activism
Check out the artists for Season Two:
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Asian PaCIVICS is a new project that uses music to help drive civic engagement and public policy change for communities across the country.
Artists will receive a six-month mentorship program that covers songwriting, creating social change with art, and career development. Throughout the season, they’ll be hearing from nationally-recognized producers and industry professionals as well as community leaders.
All artists receive financial support and will be featured in a nationally broadcasted television and radio program.
What we’re looking for
This program is equal parts art and activism. Projects that demonstrate strength in both areas are more likely to be considered.
We will be prioritizing artists that focus on underrepresented communities and causes, especially geographic locations (South, Midwest, and rural areas), racial/ethnic identities under the AAPI umbrella, and issues that have a disproportionate impact on Asian Americans but typically don’t include our voices.
Artists that focus on grassroots legislative campaign efforts for 2024 will receive additional consideration.
How to Apply
An initial cohort of ten artists will be chosen. Each will receive $1,500 USD, coaching through the process, work with GRAMMY-award winning producers, and promotional features on radio and television stations across the country.
Songs and artists at all stages will be considered - it is not necessary to have a fully recorded idea. Just complete the application to be considered. There is no cost or obligation to apply.
Only U.S-based artists who identify racially/ethnically as Asian and/or Pacific Islander qualify. Multi-racial groups/bands with at least one member who identifies as AAPI may also apply.
APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2024 PROGRAM ARE NOW CLOSED.
