Our Impact
ARTIST Resources
Since 2019, The Slants Foundation has provided funding, mentorship, and community for over 500 artists across multiple mediums, including music, film, theater, and the visual arts.
We’ve helped bring productions to life Off Broadway, sent performers on international tours on diplomatic missions, and create a sustainable eco-system for creators. In addition, we helped launch CPOC Music, the world’s first music business conference created specifically for artists of Color with a focus on social impact work.
Because organizational expenses are paid for by Asian American band The Slants and the work is driven by an all-volunteer group of artist-activists, 100% of funding received is passed directly to our artists.
CULTURE X CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
With a strong focus on the intersection of arts and activism, The Slants Foundation has partnered with numerous organizations across the country to drive voter engagement and registration in nearly 40 U.S. states, helped pass legislative bills to curb anti-Asian racism, and raised money for other nonprofits such as Stop AAPI Hate.
We’ve aligned with cultural luminaries including actors like Daniel Day Kim, Tamyln Tomita, and Hudson Yang as well as music stars such as Lea Salonga, The Linda Lindas, and jason chu, to raise awareness for critical social causes.
Most recently, we’ve helped launch multiple television and radio programs that highlight artists working in arts and activism across the country.
From support to success
We don’t just provide grants to artists, we make investments to help sustain success.
This includes providing fiscal sponsorship to aspiring organizations or artists projects that can take the work to new heights. We’ve helped launch other nonprofit organizations to elevate new voices and artist collaborations that reach the masses through features with NPR, The New York Times, and Spotify Editorial Playlists.
In addition, we provide an open door policy to always offer ongoing support, consultation, and relationship building to all artists that we serve.
