285° Festival is a celebration of Asian American arts and activism.
This event combines the work of musicians, poets, dancers, and filmmakers to demonstrate the power and beauty of the arts. It will be hosted by The Slants Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mentorship and resources to aspiring artist-activists of Asian and Pacific Islander descent doing unconventional work.
Traditionally, the Winter Solstice is celebrated as the Dōngzhì Festival (or "the extreme of winter") and is one of the most important celebrations for many East Asians, including the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese. This year, viewers from around the world can join us in beating the drum of justice by investing into the arts and supporting this flourishing community.
